The campus also earned a "Platinum Seal", the highest level award from the ALLIN Campus Democracy Challenge for 2018 Campus Democratic Engagement.

In 2018 voter registration and GOTV plans were developed, including a college-based voter registration challenge led by SUA Prepresentatives Jessica Xu (Politics), Alice Malmberg (Politics), and Judith Guitierrez (Politics).
A new Campus Action plan was developed in 2020 with SUA student leaders Soren Whiting (Politics) and Rojina Bozorgnia (Politics and Education, Democracy & Justice) developing an on-line voter education guide and WeVOTE event. Additional work was done to get UCSC administrators and faculty to publicize those contributions, and to sign onto the non-partisan #Educator Pledge 2020 to encourage students to vote.
