Declaring the Major Prerequisites to Declaring the Major All Politics majors are required to complete and pass with a grade of “C” or better two introductory Politics courses (chosen from Politics 1-79), prior to declaring the major in Politics. (These have an IS general education code). Will now be required to declare the major. Students entering UCSC with one successfully completed lower division course accepted by UCSC and approved by the Politics Undergraduate Committee. Are required to enroll in a UCSC Politics lower division course as soon as they are able and complete the course before declaring the major. Unless you started UCSC prior to 2009-10 or are a transfer student. STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 STEP 4 We recommend that at the end of your junior year, you do a "graduation check"--review your major requirements with the Politics advisor. Come by and pick up and complete the "Senior Check" form just outside Merrill 27 on the right hand wall and drop it off in the tray inside Merrill 27 on the file cabinet. The Undergraduate Advisor will email you the results of the senior checks within 3-5 business days. Declaration of Major/Minor Deadlines for 2009-2010
