International Relations theory (bridging the Rationalist-Constructivist divide on issues of security); psychological and organizational aspects of judgment and decision-making (particularly under conditions of high and persistent uncertainty); the relationship between nuclear weapons and security (the theory and practice of deterrence, the causes and consequences of nuclear proliferation, as well as the normative and institutional aspects of arms control); issues at the intersection of science, technology and security (e.g. space weaponization, global warming, genetic modification, and nanotechnology); international political economy (classical and contemporary theory as well as trade regimes and strategies for development); qualitative research methods. |
