Professor Gruhn's overall area of interest is how weak post-colonial states influence the international system in pursuit of their interests and when and how the international system benefits weak states. Her key focus is on international and transnational institutions and international law. She examines various policy arenas: human rights environment, security policy (e.g. landmines, small arms), development strategies. Her research often, though not exclusively, is empirically focused on Africa. |
